QA Tech 2nd Shift

Hours

  • 45-50 hours/week 

Essential Functions of the Position (Responsibilities)

  • Collect and analyze raw bulk ingredients for mycotoxins (aflatoxin, vomitoxin, fumonisin), peroxides, pathogens and/or nutrient analysis (protein, fat, fiber, ash, moisture). 

  • Collect and analyze raw batch feed and finished pet food samples for nutrient analysis throughout a production run.

  • Inspect raw, batched, and finished products throughout a production run for various quality parameters.

  • Communicate with production supervisors and the production manager of any necessary changes related to production.  Changes may include adjusting dryer temperatures, fat application levels, knife speeds, plugged inserts, holding product, etc.

  • Document and maintain quality reports and records related to production.

  • Observe and document HACCP critical control points related to the production.

  • Assist the quality and production teams with other tasks as needed.

  • Collect and test finished pelleted feeds for durability.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate

Preferred Skills

  • Prior quality assurance experience preferred but not required

  • Must be detailed oriented
