Growth and Expansion
In 2000, our company began
construction of our new facility
at 5101 Harbor Drive in Sioux City. On a 16 acre Industrial site,
our company built a state of the art 100,000 sq. ft. facility.
Our operations
were moved in December of 2001.
The new facility incorporated space for the entire trucking
fleet currently in use and a bulk receiving facility with 800 tons
of overhead bulk storage..
In 2002, our company decided to enter the companion animal business
as a manufacturer of pet foods, pet treats and extruded horse feeds.
The production facility, contained within the new distribution
facility was completed in November of 2002 and production of Country
Vet Pet Foods, our company's proprietary label, began.

In 2005, growth of both
the distribution business and the extrusion business required the
addition of another 60,000 sq. ft. of warehouse storage. In 2006,
the extrusion capacity was full and construction of a
second production line was begun. Today, total extrusion capacity
stands at 65,000 to 70,000 ton per year.
In 2006, our corporate
offices and financial operations were moved to our new corporate
facility in the Dakota Dunes business park in Dakota Dunes,
South Dakota.
In 2010, we acquired the assets and business interests of Wholesale Feeds Inc. of Marion, Iowa. We took over operations September 3, 2010 and will continue operations as usual in Marion. The addition added another 125,000 sq. ft. of warehouse storage and a bulk packaging facility. It also expands our sales and distribution into new markets for which we are excited to compete.
In 2012, We formed an equal ownership LLC with CHS Inc. CHS will remain separate from the newly formed entity. The new entity will be called Consumers Supply Distributing, LLC, and is based in Sioux City. The new company combines two strong, high quality feed organizations to meet the livestock and companion animal nutrition needs of our current customers, as well as position our business for growth |
